Volunteer at Back Into Daylight

Offer some of your time to the animals

What It Entails

With over 500 animals, there is always a lot of work at the sanctuary and it gets even busier as we try to expand and improve the facilities and homes for our residents. That’s why it’s so important for us to get some help from our dedicated volunteers.

Volunteering typically involves physical work: cleaning, building, fencing, digging but we would also gladly accept help from people with specific skills such as veterinary care, fostering, photography, journalism, event planning etc. Please reach out to us through the volunteering form to let us know what type of work you are comfortable with and we will be in touch when an opportunity arises.

Current Volunteer Roles

There are many ways you can help our sanctuary and we will be posting different roles here, as soon as they are finalised.
Please take a look at our Sanctuary Assistant and social media content creator role descriptions and feel free to send your application to backintodaylight@gmail.com

Sanctuary Assistant – 6 months

Social Media Content Creator – 6 months

Also please email us if you would like to adopt or foster an animal. We are not handling home checks ourselves, but the rescues we are partnering with will be delighted to chat with you and welcome you as a fosterer or adopter if your home and situation are suitable.

Many thanks from everyone at Back Into Daylight!

Please Note

Age Requirements

You must be over 18 to volunteer or have a parent complete the form on your behalf.

What to Bring, if Working Onsite

We will provide you with all the necessary tools, however please be ready to get dirty, so do not wear anything that you cherish too much. Also a good pair of boots or wellies might be necessary during wet season.

Accommodation

Unfortunately we don’t have any accommodation onsite, so at the moment we can’t have live-in volunteers.
